Fire9 was stared in 2007 by Zach Firestone. After graduating from The University of Central Florida he got a job for an independent web development company. After learning the basics of the industry Zach decided he should branch out into freelance work. After much deliberation he decided on the name Fire9. It incorporates the word "fire" from his last name and the number 9 which comes from his mothers maiden name "Nein."
