Below is a link to an interesting website that allows you to post website designs for usability testing and feedback. You can submit designs for free that are limited to predefined tests and questions or get additional information if you pay a per test fee. If I want to kill some time I’ll hit the site and do some tests that other people have setup. It’s a good way to help other people in your industry and an opportunity to learn from their mistakes. I’d like to throw one of my designs up there in the near future and see what kind of feed back I get. I’ll make sure to post my results and findings!

This absolutely just made my day. I was checking out Matt Cutts’ blog and found a post where he says Google doesn’t use the “Keywords” meta tag anymore. When talking to a client about SEO, usually one of the first things they ask about is meta tags. Understandably, this is one of the first things you learn when researching SEO and it used to be very useful in increasing rankings about a decade ago. However, we can see how far search engines have come now that Google has decided to look over this information completely. I’ll continue to use the tag which helps with keyword density, but at least now I can give clients a definite answer about how much the “Keywords” meta tag will help with their rankings. Zero.

I found a great web service that allows you to post select tweets as Facebook status updates. The Facebook application is called “Selective Twitter Status” and it works like a charm. When maintaining a web presence, it’s important to make it as easy as possible to update various websites. One way to do that is through RSS feeds that display on multiple sites, but pull from one source. This application takes that principle, but adds additional functionality by allowing you to select what tweets will show up in Facebook. You manage this by adding a “#fb” tag at the end or in your tweet, depending on your settings.
